Side Step Birthday Card

I don't know why, but this type of card has always intimidated me. But now, I have mastered it! It really isn't hard and makes a great impression on the person who is receiving it.
.
I put together to ideas that I found - yup- on Pinterest! They can be found HERE and HERE.

The pitcher and flowers are from Country Life cut at 3 inches and the Sentiment banner is from CTMH Art Philosophy cut at .75 inches. The sentiment is CTMH -  D1187 - For Every Occasion and the paper is Chantilly - X7163B

I am definitely going to make more of this card !

One Sheet Wonder Set of Five Cards

Well, it's back to work day for me. I have had a wonderful summer. I got much more done than I usually do and we moved my craft room to the lower level, into a much more open space. It is brighter and more organized than my spare bedroom space and I am finding it much easier to keep 'less messy'. Heehee :)  My hope is that I will be able to keep up with all the projects that I have found that I want to do for the coming months. No promises to you or to myself, but a solemn - I'll try !!
I found this idea on Pinterest, of coarse! -  HERE. I really liked the colors that she put together, but of coarse when I was ready to try it out, I had nothing even close. So I went through my umm rather large selection of pattern paper and found this. But then I couldn't make up my mind on the card base... as you will see... for me to only use 2 different colors is a pretty good thing !

The one sheet of patterned paper I used was a 6" x 6" sheet. I backed all the pieces in black. The stamps are SU and the butterflies are a SU dielet.

As with most of my projects, the hardest and most time consuming part is picking out the papers!

Masculine Birthday Card

I think this card is going to be okay to give to the only guy who works in a kitchen full of women... I don't really do much in the way of 'Manly' cards but I'm okay with this one.

I used two strips of scrap paper and used my distressing tool on the edges. I stamped the distressed background from Close To My Heart - D1544  on the top part of the card base then used a leave stamp from SU. The sentiment is also from SU. The metal button is from my button jar.

Baby Gift Bag with Cricut Imagine

I just love simple and I love cute, and when I can accomplish both on one project then I am SOO happy!

I used the Imagine Nursery Tails cartridge and cut the background at 6 inches and the giraffe tag at 4 inches. I cut out the giraffe and the tiny butterflies and used pop dots to attach them to the background.

The name is cut from Birthday Bash at 1 inch using both the font and font shadow.

It took me less than 30 minutes to put this bag together. All i have to do now is add some tissue and the gift and it's all ready for mom and baby!

Butterfly Birthday Card with Cricut Expression

Today's project is a set of birthday cards that I am going to add to the card box at work. I found my inspiration on Pinterest HERE.

All the cuts are from the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge. I used a Stampin Up stamp for the background on the card base and the colored butterflies. For the butterflies I used Versa Mark ink and Iridescent Embossing powder. I used a twine that has a silver thread (from Paper Wishes) for the body and antennae. The birthday sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink.

I absolutely love how great this card is in all the different colors.

Don't forget the August special from Close To My Heart...

Bag in a Box for Baby Tutorial

Good Morning!

It seems like there is a baby explosion going on all around me. New grandkids, nieces, nephews and friends... there are going to be babies busting out all over in the next few months. So I decided I had better get ahead of the game and start making a few little somethings. I am starting with this very versatile gift Bag in a Box that I found a few years ago on Splitcoaststampers. If you have a hard time following my directions just click on over there and see the original.

Okay, here goes...

The bottom is a 4.5" x 4.5" piece of cardstock that is scored at 1" on all sides.
Clip up to the score line on each corner as shown.

Put sticky strip on each tab and fold in to form the box.

Remove the tape from the bottom, lay the box along the edge, I started in the middle of the box
so the seam would be centered in the back.
continue to line up the bottom of the paper with the bottom edge
of the box.
When you get to the end, remove the tape from the side of the designer paper and attach to the opposite side.

Here is what a completed one looks like looking in from the top.

For the scalloped edge border, I  used the Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge cut at 1"

I sponged the edges first...

then added two rows of sticky strip to the back.
I attached to the bottom edge the same way as the designer paper.

For the tabs on the top, I used Artiste and put two small circles in the middle.

Important... DO NOT weld  them together, just group them together.

Score each tab down the middle. Use very strong adhesive
to attach the tabs to the front and back of the bag.

And here is the finished project...

The sentiments are from the new Artbooking Cartridge from Close To My Heart.

I'm afraid you will get tired of me saying this, but this Artbooking cartridge is fast becoming a favorite!
It is so versatile, great for all kinds of paper crafting ideas.

Imagine Nursery Tails Baby Card

Happy Friday!

I actually dusted off my Imagine...and it WAS dusty! to make this not so quick baby card.

It was pretty easy to get the cute giraffe and trees printed and cut, but it had to calibrate the cut and ink and that took some time. It still isn't right so I used my scissors to get the unwanted white border cut off. Then I inked the edges to cover up any of the places that weren't quite right. I used lots of pop dots to attach the layers and give it lots of dimension. The stamp is from Stampin Up as are the punches I used.

I really wanted to do this card using the Cricut Craft Room. I even got my cartridge linked and put all the images on the mat. I hooked up the Imagine to my computer and hit cut. It prepared to print, sent them to the Imagine and said to follow the instructions on the Imagines screen. That's when I got a little peeved... the Imagine lost the connection to my computer. I tried three times before I gave up and did it the old fashioned way, and wasted a third of a sheet of paper. So I guess tomorrow I will be searching message boards for a solution, if one exists.

I got the idea for this card from the cartridge handbook.

Summer Mini Album From Artbooking

Good Morning!

I have to say , I have never been a scrapbooker... I am a cardmaker/papercrafter. But this new cartridge - Close To My Heart Artbooking - Z1906 may change that! It makes the whole process so easy I can do it!

Here is my very first Mini Album, found on pages 52 - 53 of the handbook. All of the various embellishments are from this cartridge and the stamp sets that come with the bundle. I cut everything out at the size shown in the book and it went together great!

I put a pen along the spine before I tied the twine. It gives the right amount of space for the book to open easily.
Here is the finished book. I probably will be adding more bling and 'stuff' as I look at.
