Imagine Card

Hello everyone

Things have calmed down here now that the kids have gone home. It's way to quiet, and things are all picked up and in their normal places, but oh how I miss the noise and mess !!

So I filled the empty places with crafting, like all of us do, right?

I had to send my Imagine back ~ it had some printing problems ~ and my replacement came Friday so first thing I had to test it out. ( FYI - it works perfectly ! )My best friend's birthday is today so I made a very simple card for her.
I used the card image from Imagine More and the Piece of Cake cut with the layers. The ribbon is Stampin Up and the buttons are from my button jar.

I hope you will mark your calendar for Saturday the 5th for the Operation Write Home Bunny Hop. I know there will be tons of spring time ideas for you to drool over :)

As always, thanks for stopping by :)

1st Birthday Card

Good Morning Everyone! Today starts my long awaited 4 day weekend!! Not only do I get an extra 2 days to play, but my daughter and grandkids are coming for 5 days!!! It will be a jam packed 4 days so I figured I had better get this  card posted this morning while I have a few minutes.

My Grandson turned 1 last week and of coarse I made him a card. When my kids were little I bought all the 'milestone' cards. Now when I go to make them I get excited because I can step out of the cookie cutter style and make it my own.

The details~
  • Lions ~ Animal Kingdom - Border Feature - 1.66 inches
  • Go Wild ~ Create a Critter - 1.5
  • Grass ~ Plantin School Bool - 1/2 x 5 (unlinked on the Gypsy)
  • Papers ~ Die Cuts With A View - Safari , The Paper Studio - A Day At The Beach
  • All other paper from my scrap box
  • Sentiment from my computer
When I sat back and looked at the finished card - I smiled :)  I hope you do, too !!

As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by :)

Flaunt it Fridays Challenge

I found the Flaunt it Fridays challenge at just the right time. This weeks challenge is to use the lips image from the Indie Art free download for the Gypsy.

Here is my entry:

I copied and flipped the shadow image, then welded them together to make the card base in white. Cut at 4 inches

I cut another shadow layer in black and the image in pink. I sponged all the edges. The smaller lips are from Tinkerbell and friends and cut 1.25 inches - Real Dial on.

I used stickles and Glossy Accents for some bling.

This was a fun project that started as a hazy idea and then came to life as I  played around with it.

Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Best Friends Card

Welcome to another Monday ! I hope everyones weekend was a good one ! Mine was terrific. My youngest daughter and I traveled to see my oldest daughter and 2 grandkids! They live 2 hours away, so we don't get to see them as often as a mom/grammie would like. That's when a road trip comes into play.
My youngest and I have had MANY road trips and they are always a fun time with lots of stories, singing and laughter.

Ok, on to my card for today.  I wanted to send a special card to my best friend, for no reason, really.
I knew I wanted to use a printed image from the Imagine, so that was my inaspiration.
All the patterned paper cuts are form the Best Friends Cartridge. The teapot and sentiment stamps are from Papertrey Ink.The teapot is stamped in Versa Mark and embossed with clear embossing powder. The sentiment uses Chocolate Chip from Stampin Up.
The card base is Pacific Point also from Stampin Up.
Some inking around all the egdes, ribbon from my stash and doodling with my white gel pen and I called it done.

It's always nice to send a handmade card to someone who appreciates the thought and effort behind it.

As always, thanks for stopping by :)

ps, I don't know how I made the background color behind the word to white. So I don;t know how to undo it  LOL... If anyone can tell me the how's I would appreciate it :)

Last One For Now

Ok, this will be the last tissue box cover i post for a while ! But I LOVE this one !! It's for my daughter to put on her desk at work. She loves dragonflys and all things pink :) so what to decorate this with was easy. The directions for the cover are Here .

The dragonflys are cut from - Doodlecharms, Gypsy Wanderings, Create a Critter and Paisley and are cut at 2.5 inches. To get the pattern paper I used my Gypsy and the Imagine. I don't have any of my cartridges anymore (story for another post !) so I had to be creative to use the papers I wanted from the Imagine Nursery Tails Cartridge. I used the rounded corner square shape that comes preloaded on the Imagine, sized it to 5.5 inches and filled it with the pattern paper I wanted. I did this 4 times to fill the 12 x 12 white textured cardstock. I then changed the settings to print only.

After I had the paper printed, I moved to my Gypsy and pulled up the dragonfly images from the various cartridges and placed them on the screen to match where the papers were on the mat. Then I cut ! Simple, right? Yes but I had to concentrate kinda hard so I got the right image to cut from the right paper . But it was worth it . I really like the way they came out.

The border was another Gypsy project. The image is from Easter 2010. I sized it to the height I wanted and copied 3 or 4 times and welded them all together. I know I will use this border lots more.

The solid paper is Stampin Up. All the extra embellishments I add are from my stash. I inked all the edges and used Dazzaling Diamond Glitter  - Stampin Up.

I think this is going to look great on my daughters desk!

As always, thanks for stopping by :)
