Handyman Birthday Card

My son has his own renovation business so I just had to make him a fun card for his 30 something birthday!

Using Everyday Paper Dolls, I cut the carpenter out at 3.5 inches with all the layers.

I sponged the edges, accented the cut lines with my white gel pen, stamped the face with a Peachy Keen stamp, used some bright Stampin Up paper and a few brads and added a sentiment that I made on the computer. Simple but just right for a guy with a good sense of fun :)

As always, thanks for stoppin by :)

Sophie Cards

I received my Cricut Circle cartridge - Sophie - and I  couldn't wait to open and give it a go. I must say there are lots of great cuts and cards on this one.

I decided to try the bird cage and matching card for my project today. I set everything up in Cricut Craftroom and it was pretty easy. I'm still not as comfortable with it as I am with my Gypsy, but I guess it will just take more practice :)

Because I cut four of everything and all the cuts were usable I ended up making a set, which I don't do often. I still can't make all of them EXACTLY the same...maybe someday.....

I set the card base to a width of 4.25 and length went to 8.5 ( or very close to) automatically - with the chain highlighted. The bird cage and layers were cut at 3". The only thing I would stress with using the Craftroom is to change the pressure each time you cut a new project. I cut using my E2 and after I upped the pressure, the bird cages cut out very smoothly. I think you can cut the liner from the cartridge also but I just used my paper trimmer. Cardstock and stamps are Stampin Up.

I will be doing some more things from Sophie.... it has lots of doilies that I want to try.

As always, thanks for stopping by :)

Miss Ewe

I finally got my new (3rd) Imagine and couldn't wait to try it out (so far so good).

The Image is from Imagine More Cards and is cut with all the layers at 4 inches. The card base is a 4 1/4 " square. I used the corner punch from Stampin Up, white gel pen and white pearl pen. I sponged the edges and called it done!

Calendar Note Box

Happy Friday ! It has been a long couple of weeks here in the northeast, but today the sun came out and you could just see the relief in everyone's faces. If we can see a few days of sunshine and no rain, it will start to dry out around here :)

Isn't this the just a wonderfully useful, yet decorative Calendar Note Box?  I found the directions on Splitcoast Stampers by member DandI93... you can find the directions here .... thanks you DandI93 !!

The supplies I used are mostly Stampin Up. I stamped the flowers several times then cut out the different layers. The calendar is a file I made. If anyone would like the file, just leave me a comment with your email or email me. It's an Excel file so you can customize the background colors to your liking.

I'm already making my present list for the holidays :)

Our First Challenge

Today is the launch of Crafting When You Can Challenges ! How exciting for all of us on the Design Team and I hope for all of you as well ! Our first challenge is being sponsored by Fresh Brewed Designs, where you can find lots of fun and different digital stamps. Thank you, Fresh Brewed Designs !

Because this is my 1st challenge as part of a design team, I decided to really push myself and try something completely new for me .. Paper Piecing.. I attached my 2 patterned papers to my copy paper with removable adhesive and printed the image once on each paper. I cut out the parts I wanted from each one and attached to my image with a Zig Glue pen. Then I colored the rest with Copics and cut it all out... Easy !

The rest of the card uses all Stampin Up paper and corner punch. The edge punch is Martha Stewart. I sponged all the edges with Stampin Up Rich Razzleberry ink, added some green rhinestones and Voila... My 1st Design Team Challenge card!

I hope you like it and please leave and and all questions in the comment section... I love comments!

As always, thanks for stopping by :)
