Holy Cow!!

I have seen this sort of post LOTS of times and never really thought I would be making one of my own ...

I am now a Design Team Member for the new challenge blog Crafting When We Can Challenges !!!!!  I can't tell you how excited I am about this! I think my daughters are almost as excited as I am. They were both jumping up and down and doing more than a little hollering... and they are grown up young ladies :)

I hope you all will come by on Sunday, Sept 4th   to see my first project for this awesome new challenge. I have made a card that I am so happy with and can't wait to share it with you.

Diaper Tricycle

Hello everyone! This is my mom's blog, she is the crafty one in the family, but it's amazing how my talent can be drawn out just by watching her work on her projects.
I had a baby shower to go to this weekend and already had a diaper cake made for the mother-to-be. Mom sent me a link to a blog with this diaper tricycle by Paulette at http://www.scrapalette.blogspot.com/. So I took apart the diaper cake and made this tricycle. Let me tell you this was a huge hit at the party. When I told the mother-to-be and her mom that I used size 3 diapers so you can have it on display in the baby's room. Her mom told her NOT to take it apart ever! I guess they really liked it! Her brother is having a baby in a couple months, I think I am going to make one for them too.
The directions call for size 1 diapers, but I like using larger sizes so they don't take it apart right away, but bigger diapers means bigger bike. I had to use a swattling blanket to keep the tires together instead of a receiving blanket.
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my first contribution to the blog. Now that I know how easy this is I have to go find more of my projects to post.
Thank you, Kate

Following A Sketch

Happy Friday ! It has been a long week in our house. Waiting for my husband to have by pass surgery yesterday (he's doing well), the time seemed to drag. I made this card a while ago and just got to take photos to share.
I used this sketch from Operation Write Home
I am just learning to use sketches to improve my card designs...they are a wonderful resource!

The cupcake is from From My Kitchen and the sentiment is from Stampin Up.

I used Glossy Accents and my I-Rock for some 'bling'.

I'm not sure how much crafting time I am going to have for the next few days, but I hope to have more to show you next week.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Design Team Entry

Well, it's time for another chance to be on the My Pink Stamper design team. This is such an exciting opportunity for me as I have been following Robyn's blog for more than 2 years, I think. My Pink Stamper was the very first place I found to learn how use my Cricut when my husband bought it for me. If it weren't for Robin I would have had a $300.00 paperweight on my craft desk :)

The challenge is fairly simple :

Make a card, scrapbook page, or other Cricut project with your favorite Cricut cartridge using the following colors.....

Orange
Turquoise
Green
Brown
(other optional color of your choice)

My favorite cartridge right now is Kate's ABCs. I try to be a little different from the norm, so I chose to  make a tissue box cover. The directions can be found here.

I used all the colors in the challenge and a very hot pink for the 'other' color.

The recipe is as follows:

Cardstock ~ Stampin Up
Cricut Cartridge ~ Kate's ABCs
Embossing Folder ~ Cuttlebug Swiss Dots
Lots of Gel Pen doodling with a little bit of Stickles thrown in for good measure :)
Some buttons, flowers, rhinestones and brads from my  'collection'
Paper Doiley  from one of the craft stores that I sponged with Pink ink.
Ribbon from my stash
I seem to suffer from some sort of disease that makes me think my projects are never finished, that they need just one more something! If any of you have a suggestion on how to cure this, please let me know :)
There will be LOTS of other crafty bloggers submitting wonderful projects... and we have to wait until Saturday to find who Robyn chooses...Good Luck to us all :)

Thank You Card

I love making thank you cards. They can have any image and color you can think up and everyone likes receiving them.

The papers are from my scrap box, the bird is from a Stampin Up punch, the ovals are Nestabilities and the sentiment is Stampin Up .

Thanks for stopping by :)

As my gift to the new mom-to-be I made 40 of these thank you cards.

My next assignment will be bridal shower invites and I will get to use all the bling and frill that I can think of for those :)  Quite the opposite of these. Can't wait to get started.

Until next time, thanks for stiopping by :)

Favor Boxes for Baby Shower

Today I am sharing the favor boxes I made as samples for the hostess to choose from.

The first is a Gable box and you can get the directions at Splitcoaststampers. All supplies for this box are Stampin Up, except the ribbon, which is from my stash.
The next choice is this Baby Block box. It is cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More. The letter squares are from George and Basic Shapes and the letters are from a Child's Year.
The last choice is this adorable Baby Carriage box. I found the directions on line and I am very sorry I didn't write down where I got them from. If I find it I will add it to this post so i can give the well deserved credit to the creative person who cam up with this idea . If any of you recognize it and can tell me who did it, PLEASE let me know :)

I will be posting the ones that were chosen next time.

As always, thank you for stopping by :)

Baby Shower Invites and Favors

I hope you are all having a great summer. I had such good intentions to have new projects to post every couple of days for the entire summer... but you know how good intentions can sometimes get a little off track... So now I am just hoping to have a few projects to post for the rest of the summer..

Before the craziness started, I was asked to make baby shower invitations for a very good freind of my daughter. Of coarse I was thrilled and extremely flattered that she liked my stuff well enough to ask me :)
So I made a couple of different samples for her to choose from. Here are 2 of them.

The directions for this pocket card can be found at Splitcoaststampers.  All card stock is Stampin Up. Stamps used are Stampin Up, Papertrey Ink and one from Micheals. I embossed the white with a cuttlebug folder and used Stampin Up punches.

This was such a fun project ! The directions for the side step card can be found at Splitcoaststampers.
Paper is Stampin Up and DCWV. Cruicut cuts fron Nates ABC's and Nursery Rhyme. I think the stamp is Stampin Up. I entered this project in the Cooking With Cricut Challenge #41.

My next post will be the favors I made for her to choose from. Then I will show you which ones she picked and I made 40 of each :)

As always thank you for stopping by :)
